The Kenmore Elite 48043 is a 30-inch single wall oven that performs very well in a recent independent test. Not only does it have a sleek, stainless-steel design, testing shows it has excellent baking and broiling performance. The electric oven includes a convection feature, which is widely touted for improving surface browning. Other features include a self-cleaning setting, one-year warranty and a temperature probe, which cooks meat to the correct internal temperature. Kenmore Elite is one of the top-rated brands in J.D. Power and Associates' annual customer-satisfaction survey for cooktops, ovens and ranges. The Kenmore Elite 48043 is more expensive than many other single wall ovens, and one owner complains that the blue digital clock on the display is "blinding." If cost is a concern, the Maytag MEW5530DDW (*Est. $850) is a good budget pick, but it doesn't include the popular convection feature.

The best review of the Kenmore Elite 48043 comes from ConsumerReports.org. Editors test this wall oven along with 20 other models. The oven is rated for capacity, baking and broiling.
