- Variety of spin speeds
- Gentle operation
- Uses regular detergent
- Energy efficient
- Wrinkle-inducing spin cycle
- Limited availability of replacement parts
The Fisher & Paykel Intuitive Eco IWL16 is an energy-efficient washing machine that is Energy Star-certified. In comparison tests with more expensive machines, the Fisher & Paykel Intuitive Eco is shown to be gentler on clothes. The Fisher & Paykel offers three spin cycles, including a high-speed, 1,000-rpm cycle that removes much of the water from clothes. Owner reviews, however, indicate that although the high-speed spin works well with towels and jeans, it can wrinkle other clothes. The Fisher & Paykel washer has a large, 3.7-cubic-foot capacity tub and 13 specialty cycles. If you want a washing machine with a larger capacity, consider the 4.0-cubic-foot Samsung Front Load Washer WF218ANW (*Est. $800), a front-loading washer that gets good reviews.
The best professional review for the Fisher & Paykel Intuitive Eco IWL16 is from ConsumerReports.org, which extensively tests washing machines. However, the Fisher & Paykel IWL16 wasn't included in the organization's most recent test. A number of user reviews are also posted at ConsumerReports.org.
