The LG SteamWasher WM2688HNMA has been discontinued. It performs well in professional reviews and is more efficient and gentle on clothes than most other front-loading machines. The SteamWasher has unique features, including two steam cycles, an internal water heater and the ability to monitor the machine remotely via computer. It has a large, stainless steel, 4-cubic-foot tub, and its 1,320-rpm spin cycle removes more water so clothes need less time to dry. The LG SteamWasher also offers automatic temperature control and detergent dispensing. The downside is that we found more complaints about mold buildup for the LG SteamWasher than we did for other steam washers.
There are close to 100 reviews for the LG SteamWasher on such sites as Epinions.com, BestBuy.com and Buzzillions.com. LG also appears at the top of J.D. Power and Associates' annual customer satisfaction survey on JDPower.com. ConsumerReports.org also provides another expert review of this machine based on objective testing.
