Nalgene Everyday Tritan On the Go

- BPA-free plastic
- Good value
- Wide-mouth top
- Flip-top can pop open if dropped or tipped over
- Only comes in three colors
For those who want a simple, inexpensive water bottle, the Nalgene Everyday Tritan On the Go (OTG) is a good choice. This bottle is made from Tritan copolyester, which does not contain the chemical bisphenol A (BPA), and has a flip top. Fluid measurements are clearly marked to help you keep track of your water intake. The Nalgene water bottle isn't very flashy; it only comes in three colors, and it's not the best choice for those who want a completely leakproof water bottle. On their website, Nalgene acknowledges that the Nalgene Everyday OTG is not "100% leakproof." They don't recommend storing it upside down in a backpack or purse. Most reviewers find it easy to use and say the flip top is easy to open, although we also read some reports of the flip top popping open when tipped over or dropped. The top-rated plastic water bottle, the CamelBak Better Bottle (*Est. $10 for 25-oz. bottle), has a more complicated bite valve, but it earns more recommendations than the Nalgene Everyday OTG.
Good Housekeeping tests the Nalgene Everyday On The Go along with 32 other water bottles. While their scoring isn't disclosed, we do know that the Nalgene Everyday OTG was the top scorer. Reviewers at the blog Gardenaut and Men's Journal also weigh in on the water bottle, as do a handful of owners at Amazon.com and Buzzillions.com.
