PolurNET.com

Budget web hosting service

pros
  • Price
  • Generous space
  • 99.995 % uptime
  • Excellent email support
cons
  • No phone support
  • Surprise account suspension possible

Reviews recommend PolurNET as a budget web host with low prices and good customer service. The cheapest plan, Basic Paw LITE, includes 150 MB of disk space and a monthly bandwidth of up to 6 GB -- plenty for a family or hobby website. As your website grows, upgraded plans are available. The main complaint we found was that if your site grows suddenly – from unexpected publicity, for example, and you use more than the agreed-upon CPU usage -- your account will be suspended suddenly, right at the time you need it most. If you think this might be a problem, consider a more expensive web host such as Webstrike Solutions ($30 fee for first year; $8 per month and up thereafter).

Nearly 400 users rate PolurNET at VistaInter.com, which also monitors the host's uptime, and WebHostingJury.com is another good source of user-written reviews. One well-publicized account suspension and followup is discussed at MyBiggestComplaint.com (ironically, the site suspended) with further discussion at Website Hosting Talk. We also found a few user-written reviews at WebHostingStuff.com.
