According to reviewers, the Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks is a top-rated laptop webcam. It includes a 2-megapixel sensor, a high-quality Carl Zeiss lens, sound- and light-enhancing technologies, autofocus, face tracking and a myriad of other user-friendly features. These specifications, reviewers point out, put this notebook webcam in the same league as many high-end desktop webcams. Even more, several reviewers state unequivocally that they prefer the QuickCam Pro for Notebooks over competing models of both the laptop and desktop variety. If you don't want to spend so much, the Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 (Discontinued) is a top pick for a budget webcam, but it doesn't clip as securely to a laptop screen.
We found many reviews of the Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks webcam, but it can be challenging to determine which version of the camera the reviewer is covering, due to several model upgrades with minimal – or no – change to the name. EverythingUSB.com, LaptopLogic.com and CowboyFrank.net all illustrate their reviews with sample images from the camera and screenshots showing the software interface. They also have excellent, balanced and comparative narrative reviews. CNET and Laptop Magazine provide short reviews with ratings, but provide no illustrations or context. We also found a good number of user reviews at Amazon.com.
