Built-in webcams have become common, even standard, features on most laptops, including entry-level models from Dell, HP and Apple. Webcams are almost universally built into tablets and netbooks as well. Although we didn't see any reviews that compared integrated webcams to standalone models, the technical specifications for the former generally lag a generation or two behind the latter.
The sites in the Our Sources section are the best places to check for more information. CowboyFrank.net is an excellent source for reviews of older webcams, information and tips on getting the most out of a webcam.
