Reviews say the 16-gallon Craftsman 17761 shop vacuum has plenty of power and picks up dry and wet debris equally well. Users say they appreciate the shop vacuum's suction power, reasonable price, assortment of attachments and long power cord. However some users complain that the Craftsman 17761 is too noisy and that its lid doesn't lock tightly enough to prevent dust leaks. While the Craftsman 17761 is made by Ridgid for Sears, it is only covered by a one-year warranty, rather than Ridgid's more generous lifetime warranty. If you can afford to spend more, you might want to consider the Ridgid WD 1450 (*Est. $135) for a quieter and comparably sized wet dry vac with a longer warranty.
Since Craftsman wet dry vacs are sold exclusively at Sears, we found a good number of reviews from owners at Sears.com that reflect how the Craftsman 17761 fares over time. ToolCrib.com also included the Craftsman 17761 in their rankings of nine shop vacuums.
