The LG HBS-700 stereo Bluetooth headphones earn a spot on many critics' lists for the best portable wireless headsets, though not because of their overwhelming music or call performance. However, while relatively minor complaints are leveled against sound quality with music and while placing calls, unlike many Bluetooth headsets, performance in all respects is better than average. Additionally, both reviewers and users say the HBS-700's flexible neckband and retractable earbuds are one of the most comfortable Bluetooth headphones around. While there is a multipoint mode that allows two devices to sync with the headset, you can't listen to music while using the feature. If you are looking for a Bluetooth stereo headset that's a knockout with music, the Plantronics BackBeat 903+ (*Est. $55) might be for you, though its performance with cell phone calls is a disappointment, critics say.
We found good reviews of the LG HBS-700 headphones from professional testers at CNET and PCMag.com, where the set made each publications' list of the top wireless or Bluetooth headphones. Amazon.com and Newegg.com users weigh in with a significant amount of feedback, too.

Nicole Lee praises the LG HBS-700's comfort and design, calling it "one of the most comfortable stereo Bluetooth headsets we've ever tried." She says that voices can sometimes sound "digitized" and the bass is a bit weak, but overall, the headphones deliver "good audio quality at an affordable price."

2. PCMag.com
Jamie Lendino puts the LG HBS-700 through both music and call testing; he reports that the calls are free of the hissing and audio drop-outs that plague many Bluetooth headsets. He also reports that the bass is a little weak, and Arcade Fire's "Ready to Start" track "sounded a little muddier than on comparable headsets." He says, however, that the headphones have clear music performance for the most part. The site also places the HBS-700 on its list of the top Bluetooth headsets.

The users at Newegg.com rate the LG HBS-700 more highly than Amazon.com users; all but one of the 35-plus users who have left a review rate the Bluetooth headset 4 or 5 "eggs."
