Sounds Great!! Even on the treadmill !!, November 20, 2009

I bought these headphones mainly to use when walking/running on the treadmill. I was afraid the treadmill would interfere with the reception, but I have not had any problems at all with the reception when running the treadmill. I can hear my TV shows quite well while on the treadmill without having to turn the sound up to blasting. I also have hooked them to my computer monitor to watch streaming video from the internet during my workouts with great results. I also found that the range of these headphones is great. I've used them all over the house in rooms other than where the base is, as well as in my backyard (2+ acres) and have had no problems. I even hooked them to my ipod in the house while I was using a noisy leaf blower outside. I had previously tried to use the ipod and leafblower at the same time and found the leaf blower too noisy for the ipod headphones even at its highest level. These headphones worked wonders in blocking out the leaf blower motor while allowing me to listen to my music at a comfortable level. I highly recommend these headphones.

Avoid analog wireless headphones at all costs, November 18, 2009

I bought the Sennheiser RS130 and the Sony MDR-DS6000 with the intention of comparing the two and keeping the better headphones. These are NO MATCH for the Sony MDR-DS6000s, despite the Sony's price premium. Why? Digital v. Analog. The Sennheiser set uses old-school 900Mhz analog comm. - just like early-1990s cordless home telephones. The Sony set uses 2.4Ghz digital comm. - just like your wireless router. The frequency difference really doesn't matter; the degree to which analog communications are susceptible to interference is the key. Digital is simply less likely to pick up nasty interference and, because I live in a condo, there's a lot of interference to be had. In addition, my Sennheiser set had a faulty power supply that ceased working after one day's use. This might be a fluke, but it's not a good sign. One upside to the RS130s is that they're very, very comfortable. Bottom line: skip this product and get a set of digital wireless headphones. I recommend the Sony MDR-DS6000, which has the added benefit of accepting digital audio input (optical). Another solid (and cheaper) choice is the AWD210 by Acoustic Wireless.

Awesome!, November 18, 2009

I have had these for a few weeks now..also got the add-on head phones so we have 2 pair. We love them. I initially made the purchase because the accoustics in the house (tile floors)along with the open floor plan prevent me from hearing the telivision when the family is in the kitchen. I was using them with a Vizio 37" led. Now we are using them with our new Samsung 50" Plasma. Contrary to what I have read in other reviews....the surround option is great...it was amazing to watch Transformers Rise of The Fallen...amazing surround sound for head phones. With a newer Telivision you will need a converter to go from your digital output to the headphones...this is what I got....GefenTV Digital to Analog Decoder .

Less than I expected, November 13, 2009
Good sound and confort but less than satisfactory at distances it claims to cover. Very food near source.

1. DigitalTrends.com

On this electronics review site, the Sennheiser RS 130 is named an "Editors' Choice." The headphones were tested extensively with music, movies and games. Brandon King only recommends surround sound for games. Otherwise, he feels they outperform other wireless headphones in sound quality, comfort, battery life and range.

2. CNET

Steve Guttenberg praises the Sennheiser RS 130 for its light weight and comfort. He was impressed that sound quality was nearly comparable to a corded Sennheiser headphone, except for static during quiet passages. He's disappointed with the virtual surround sound, however, and criticizes the button placement.

3. Which? (UK)

Which? editors do extensive testing similar to Consumer Reports magazine. The Sennheiser RS 130 is rated highly for fit and comfort. Testers were especially impressed with this headphones' range, which followed them out into the garden. They admit to clear sound but complain of hissing, weak bass and sound leakage.

4. GoodGearGuide.com.au

Although the Sennheiser RS 130 review isn't as good as others on this Australian site, Matthew Overington gives some useful feedback. He feels that bass response is "outstanding" and that comfort is high. Range falls far short of the 100 meters advertised. Compared with other surround-sound headphones, the Sennheiser RS 130s are a good value.

5. The Sunday Times (U.K.)

David Price, who edits the British magazine Hi-Fi World, says the Sennheiser RS 130 headphones are a great value. He finds them comfortable although not particularly lightweight. He also likes the charging setup (also praised in the DigitalTrends.com review). Like other professional reviewers, he feels the virtual surround-sound feature is "unconvincing."
