quality from apple..., October 28, 2009

I have suffered from countless issues from previous routers. like others, I have had issues with my old router crashing once a month. This issue got progressively worse as I started to upload large movies to youtube. problem solved with the apple airport extreme base station. I bought one used on amazon and have been thrilled with the performance. no more hard resets. strong signal throughout my house. works very well with my apple tv. I cannot say enough good things about this router. LOVE IT!

Perfect Performance, September 10, 2009

This product, in apple fashion, has performed perfectly with no extra attention from myself. I bought the product used and had trouble setting it up to begin with since there was already a password protected network in place, which I didn't realize. Of course installation instructions are intended for bought-new products so I had to do some research to learn how to reset (once I even figured out why I couldn't find the network). This isn't a fault of the product however, but a result of buying it used. Once setup the wireless router has worked flawlessly for over a month with no extra attention. Exactly what I needed since I don't care about custom settings and specifications. I just wanted to use the internet and I got it. Speed is excellent when simultaneously using Xbox 360 (wired) and three laptops (wireless). Coverage extends well into the parking lot from my apartment so no problems there. Very satisfied with the product.

I Tried and Tried-No Luck, August 13, 2009

Brand new out of the box after running the disk I could not get my mac mini to find it. after much fussing it would seem to work- but after closing Safari I would have to re-run the disk to find it again. Much less luck with my Mac Laptop iBook G4 I don't know what I could have done wrong or anything else I might have tried. Returned for refund - restock fee. Got a Linksys Wireless-G Router. Flew perfect out of the box. Laptop from farthest end of house-and prints off my old HP 2410, sharing from my mac desktop mini. I too am an Apple fan and have had no luck with an Airport Express either. Because of the instant success with the Linksys using the same techniques I can't help but feel the Extreme the weaker unit. I tried.

Great as usual!, May 26, 2009

I've had the router almost a year. I use it with a Nintendo Wii, Macbook and several other devices including a G1 phone, Sony PSP, Ipod Touch and several non Mac computers. The router has NEVER, repeat NEVER needed a reboot. It runs in mixed mode to support N/B/G wireless connections and is FAST. There are VERY few configuration settings that you need to tweak, which was almost disappointing at first, but very typical of Apple. Like most products from Cupertino, it is as close to plug and play as a router can get. The router's connection works throughout the house, basement and guest house as well as when sitting in a car parked on the street. On a typical night, this router is handling World of Warcraft, a movie on Hulu, surfing on the G1 and god only knows what else on the rest of the devices all at the same time, flawlessly.

Beach Audio Ships Used Equipment, May 18, 2009
I purchased an Apple Mb053ll/a Airport Extreme Base Station 802.11n from Amazon.com, but it was shipped from Beach Audio. Even though I purchase a new unit, I was shipped a used unit that had already configured. I recommend that you tell Amazon to not use this company to supply equipment that you might purchase from Amazon.
