No epilator is perfect, but the Remington EP6025C comes pretty close. Users say that having the choice of two interchangeable epilating heads -- one small, one large -- makes plucking curvy areas like the armpit and face much easier. The EP6025C is loud, but gives great, long-lasting results if you're patient. It's also easy to hold and clean.
Long-lasting results are worth the pain. All epilators hurt, and opinions about the Remington EP6025C's comfort level (or lack thereof) are sharply divided. Some say it's so bad they have to use over-the-counter numbing creams to tolerate the pain, while others report only the occasional pinch. "If you are already used to waxing this will be a piece of cake!" writes one woman at Walmart.com.
Users are nearly unanimous, however, about the positive results -- most report going easily a week or more between uses; some can skip three or four weeks. Redness, and in at least one case welts, may last for an hour or so afterward, depending on your hair type and level of sensitivity.
An easy round of noise. The Remington EP6025C's washable head gives it a leg up over other models in terms of cleanup. Users also say it's easy to hold, and its battery seems to hold a charge much better than the Emjoi OptiMax (Est. $50 and up) . Although Remington doesn't make any claims about overall battery life, a few women say they get several epilation sessions out of just an hour's recharge time.
The EP6025C comes with a second, smaller epilation head for use on delicate, curvy areas like the face or armpits; women say it's a big help. Its biggest downside, however, is that it's pretty noisy. One Walmart.com user describes its noise level as "lawnmower." Remington doesn't list a price or part number for a replacement tweezing head, nor do they recommend when to make replacements.
