What the reviewers don't like:
Garmin nuvi 750 review highlights GPSMagazine.com's comprehensive review does a good job helping readers decide whether the nüvi 750, which leaves out a few advanced features in favor of a low price, will meet their needs. Two other reliable sites, GPS Tracklog and GPSLodge.com, recommend the nüvi 750 on their buying guides but skip the full review (the nüvi 750 performs similarly to the exhaustively reviewed nüvi 760). Reviews at Amazon.com are posted by consumers, not experts, but they are particularly useful when considering the nüvi 750 - users have detected flaws that eluded the experts, and recently added reviews reveal that Garmin's updates have fixed certain early problems. For example, a CNet.com review faults the nüvi 750 for being sluggish, but more recent user reviews report that is no longer the case. The Garmin nüvi 750 hits just the right balance between price and performance, reviewers say. It includes advanced features that experts say can help you navigate - multi-point routing and the ability to speak street names - while leaving out two extras you might not miss: traffic alerts and the ability to make Bluetooth hands-free calls. If you want those two extras, you can spend more for the nüvi 760 (*est. $425), which is the GPS experts most often recommend in this price range. The nüvi 750 beats Magellan and TomTom GPS units in repeated routing tests. The nüvi 750 also gets better reception than its predecessor, the nüvi 650 (*est. $275) in tests, and with all of the nüvi 750's extra features, reviewers say it's worth the extra cost. Both experts and owners downgrade the entire nüvi 700 series for its underpowered FM transmitter, which is supposed to allow users to route the unit's audio through their car stereos via unused FM stations. Users also repeatedly comment that the nüvi 700 series' speakers can sound tinny or too quiet. Also see full report: Auto GPS *In order of credibility (see our Ratings Criteria).1.
