2007 Hyundai Entourage Review

(*est. $23,795 to $28,795)

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Minivans which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
The Hyundai Entourage minivan received top scores in government crash testing, and the 2007 model’s long warranty is another plus with reviewers. Most said the Hyundai Entourage is well-built, with a substantial list of standard equipment. The 2007 Entourage also garnered high marks for its smooth and quiet ride, powerful engine, brisk acceleration and low price.

What the reviewers don't like:
Critics said the Hyundai Entourage could handle a bit better, and its rear-seat leg room is somewhat tight. Overall, reviewers agreed that the Entourage is not as refined as the class leaders of the 2007 model year, the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. Reliability is unproven and iffy.

2007 Hyundai Entourage review highlights

The 2007 Hyundai Entourage (along with its sister minivan, the Kia Sedona) was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for its best-in-class crash-test ratings. Reviews noted that the Hyundai Entourage doesn't quite compete with the top-rated 2007 models, the Honda Odyssey (price when new: $25,645 to $39,095) and Toyota Sienna (price when new: $24,155 to $37,665), when it comes to handling, responsiveness, interior refinement and available options, but reviewers had no trouble identifying the Sedona and Entourage as best-value minivans. However, because this minivan was new in 2007, it doesn't have much of a reliability track record. Early data isn't positive, with documented problems with interior squeaks and rattles, and problematic power equipment so far.

Reviews said the Hyundai Entourage was the most significant new minivan introduced in 2007. We found credible and detailed reviews for the Entourage at Edmunds.com, where the Entourage was compared directly to its minivan competitors. We found a great head-to-head comparison of the Hyundai Entourage and Dodge Grand Caravan at Paddocktalk.com. Other reviews came from Road and Travel magazine, Canadian Driver, Consumer Reports and ConsumerGuide.com.

Test Drive: 2007 Hyundai Entourage GL with Comfort Package
Jil McIntosh
Aug. 1, 2006

Canadian writer Jil McIntosh conducted what she describes as "purely unscientific" automotive studies, located in grocery store parking lots. Her position is that minivans are work trucks for families, and as such they need to be cost-efficient. McIntosh said that the Kia Sedona and Hyundai Entourage are similar enough that a decision between the two may come down to which dealer is most conveniently located.
