1. PC World >> Details/Subscribe	Top 10 CD-RW Drives Editors of PC World May 2003		PC World's evaluations of CD-RW drives are incredibly thorough. Drives are tested on speed by writing a 100MB file to a CD-RW and ripping 320MB of audio tracks. Software and support is also evaluated. Two LG Electronics drives on this chart earn a Best Buy rating. One is the LG GCC-4480B, which editors say, "provides the best balance of price, performance and support policies." The other is the GCE-8520B, which is fast and well supported by the manufacturer. Like most reviewers, PC World has shifted coverage to DVD burners, and this is the most recent top-10 chart for CD-RW drives.
2. PC Magazine >> Details/Subscribe	Four High-Speed CD-RW Drives Loyd Case July 3, 2003		Like most other publications, PC Magazine has turned to rating and reviewing DVD burners. This is the most recent roundup we found of 52X CD-RW drives. No overall winner is declared, but editors make a good case for the Samsung SM-352BRNS. In related reviews on the site, there are several tests of models that copy memory card data to CDs without a computer. The Aleratec Digital Photo Copy Cruiser Plus is the best of these.
3. Newegg.com	CD/DVD Burners & Media Contributors to Newegg.com As of Jan. 2007		Newegg.com is a retailer that lets owners review products. This site caters to builders and IT techs, so reviews here tend to be more knowledgeable than some. Several owners of OEM drives write that you don't get instructions or a manual -- an aspect misunderstood by some buyers. If you need instructions and software, go for a retail drive. The Lite On SOHC-5236V combo drive gets a large number of reviews. A few owners say it didn't read some commercial DVDs. Readers also like the ASUS CB-5216AG combo drive. The Lite On SOHR-5239V is said to be a little loud.
4. Amazon.com	CD-RW Drives Contributors to Amazon.com As of Jan. 2007		Only a few drives receive reviews at Amazon.com. The Lite-On LTR 52329S garners a couple of reviews, with an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Other models get one or two write-ups from owners. The LaCie Slim combo Porsche external drive is criticized by some for build quality and support.
5. Epinions	CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drives Contributors to Epinions As of Jan. 2007		There are a handful of owner-written reviews here for CD-RW drives, but many discontinued models are also included in the list.

6. CDRLabs.com	Hardware Reviews Editors of CDR Labs.com As of Jan. 2007		This site started out by evaluating CD burners. Currently, they are an excellent source for reviews on DVD burners. No CD burners have been tested since 2003.
7. CNet.com	Hard Drives and Burners Editors of CNet.com As of Jan. 2007		The most recently written reviews here on CD burners date from 2003. CNet.com has shifted to covering DVD burners.
