Logitech MX Revolution Review

(*est. $90) Compare Prices

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Computer Mice and Trackballs which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
Reviews say that precision and control are great, and that the Logitech MX Revolution has an easy-gliding bottom. It can automatically adjust the scroll wheel to match the application. Reviewers like its free-spin mode, a one-touch Internet search button and two-speed vertical scrolling. The Logitech MX Revolution is comfortable and has a nice thumb-rest area. Battery life is good, and a display shows remaining life.

What the reviewers don't like:
The Logitech MX Revolution laser cordless mouse can only be used right-handed. Free-wheel scrolling doesn't always work. Critics say that the software has a steep learning curve. Higher-resolution mice are better for serious gaming, and the MX Revolution is expensive.

Logitech MX Revolution review highlights

The consensus of reviewers is that the Logitech MX Revolution laser cordless mouse really is revolutionary, or more accurately, evolutionary. Almost all say it is currently the best general-purpose mouse, though it's more expensive than others. If gaming is your primary interest, a higher-resolution mouse like the wireless Logitech G7 (*est. $75) or corded G5 (*est. $45) might be a better bet, but otherwise, nothing else in its class is comparable. The MX Revolution is for right-handed use only.

The Logitech MX Revolution laser cordless mouse is among the more well known general-purpose computer mice available, and that's reflected by the large number of reviews we found. The almost credible reviews can be found at OCIA.com, SharkyExtreme.com and ExtremeTech.com. The review at EverythingUSB.com lacks comparisons or a rating, but is otherwise solid. HardwareCentral.com rates the MX Revolution and makes comparisons, but the review isn't as detailed as others.
