What the reviewers like:
The 1,600-dpi Logitech MX518 is very comfortable. You can make on-the-fly sensitivity adjustments. Response is extremely fast and precision is accurate. You don't have to install the driver. The Logitech MX518 glides easily. Reviewers like the build quality, which is backed with a three-year warranty. The mouse has programmable buttons.

What the reviewers don't like:
The mouse can only be used right-handed. Some reviewers prefer cordless mice. The MX518 is an older model and newer gaming mice, most notably the Logitech G5, are considered better performers.

Logitech MX518 Optical Mouse review highlights

In its youth, the Logitech MX518 was the best gaming mouse according to reviewers. The only area of difference among reviewers is how much of an improvement the MX518 represented compared with previous Logitech mice. Currently, the Logitech G5 (*est. $45) is considered the best corded mouse by reviewers, but the MX518 is a bit less expensive than the most current version of that mouse.

The corded Logitech MX518 Gaming Grade Optical Mouse has been around for quite some time, but it is still available and, interestingly, is often used as a comparison for newer products. Because of its age, there are lots of reviews available, although most reviews are quite old.
