What the reviewers like:
The Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000 has a tilt wheel and a magnifier. Reviewers praise long battery life. Portability is great. Accuracy is improved over older Microsoft mice.

What the reviewers don't like:
The Microsoft 4000 is not as responsive as Microsoft's laser mice. One reviewer thinks the mouse is too small. Most reviewers have one or two other complaints about ergonomics. Those include the shape (it has a hump in the middle), button responsiveness, lack of forward and back buttons and placement of buttons.

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000 review highlights

The Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000 is now in the middle of Microsoft's small, portable mouse lineup. The higher-end mice use lasers instead of an LED. Several reviewers complain that the mouse is too small. In direct comparisons, almost all reviewers prefer Logitech mice such as the Logitech VX Revolution (*est. $45) to Microsoft mice.

We found a fair number of objective reviews for the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000, the best of which come from Techtree.com and Hardware Pacers. A well done but amateur review at DevHardware.com compares the 4000 with the Logitech V200. Other reviewers make less relevant comparisons.

This is a comprehensive amateur review from an owner's standpoint. The Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000 is directly compared with a Logitech V200 (*est. $35). While the reviewer's approach is unscientific, his description of his experience is informative.
