Saitek PC Gaming Mouse review highlights

The Saitek PC Gaming Mouse is a budget alternative to Logitech and Razer gaming mice. With its resolution of 1,600 dpi, reviewers say performance is competitive, but ergonomics and software are not.

Most of the reviews we found for the Saitek PC Gaming Mouse come from sources that don't regularly review mice. TrustedReviews.com, OverclockersClub.com, Futurelooks.com and Xtremecomputing.co.uk all have decent reviews backed by thorough testing for gaming use. CNet.com's review devotes a paragraph to performance and ergonomics.

Saitek PC Gaming Mouse Reviews
*In order of credibility (see our Ratings Criteria).

1. Trusted Reviews
Saitek PC Gaming Mouse Review
Benny Har-Even
Aug. 6, 2005

TrustedReviews.com provides a balanced review of the Saitek PC Gaming Mouse, but it lacks the depth and illustration of the best mouse reviews we've seen. Even so, the comparisons made are excellent and helpful. Benny Har-Even's complaints about ergonomics and software don't quite fit with the rating TrustedReviews gives the Saitek PC Gaming Mouse.

2. OverclockersClub.com
Saitek Gaming Mouse Review
Nick Green
Sept. 26, 2006

Nick Green mostly avoids comparisons with other mice because he says the Saitek PC Gaming Mouse is the cheapest in its category. Still, he prefers his Razer Diamondback (*est. $40). The review is very balanced and the conclusion is appropriate.

3. Futurelooks.com
Saitek 1600 DPI Desktop Gaming Mouse Review
Harold Yang
Sept. 12, 2005

This review of the Saitek PC Gaming Mouse is very thorough and well balanced, but no direct comparisons are made. The review concludes with lists of pros and cons and ratings in four subcategories, as well as an overall rating and recommendation. The overall rating seems excessively high relative to the reviewer's assessment: "I was not overly impressed with it."

4. Xtremecomputing.co.uk
Saitek Gaming Mouse Review
R. Bowzer
Dec. 30, 2005

This rambling, amateur review makes some comparison with the Razer Diamondback. Testing is comprehensive, and the review is conclusive.

5. CNet.com
Saitek 1600DPI Desktop Gaming Mouse Review
Will Greenwald
Dec. 8, 2005

Most of CNet.com's review discusses installation and appearance. The shallow review does offer some good advice, but misinformation damages credibility. For example, CNet.com says, "Saitek backs the 1600-DPI Desktop Gaming Mouse with a two-year warranty -- a year longer than the industry standard." However, most other top mice have warranties that are at least as long, and many are longer.
