What the reviewers like:
According to reviews, the Sharp AQUOS LC-46D62U has the deepest blacks of any non-CRT display, darker even than some of the top plasma TVs. That makes it great for movie watching. Color saturation is good (even though reviews say uniformity is a problem). Off-angle viewing is better than most LCD TVs, and the backlit remote is a plus. The Sharp AQUOS LC-46D62U is also less expensive than many LCD TVs in its size class. What the reviewers don't like: The Sharp AQUOS LC-46D62U suffers from uniformity issues that show up as bands of distinct color -- an issue noted in several professional reviews and user reviews as well. Color temperature is uneven, resulting in a bluish tinge in some trials. Other experts note some minor graininess and edge enhancement in some images. Sharp AQUOS LC-46D62U review highlights Reviews say the 46-inch Sharp AQUOS LC-46D62U has some great image qualities -- including deep and inky blacks -- along with attractive styling. However, critics say a couple of issues prevent it from ranking with the elite LCD TVs that are currently on the market. In some tests, screen uniformity is uneven, resulting in irregular bands of color that can be readily seen in some program material. This issue has also been reported in numerous user reviews at sites across the Internet. Color accuracy is also less than perfect. Because of that, reviews generally give higher scores to other competitive LCD TVs, such as the JVC LT-46FN97 (*est. $2,530). CNet.com has published the best, most detailed review we found for the 46-inch Sharp AQUOS LC-46D62U LCD HDTV. CNet's editors subject each TV it covers to a standard battery of tests, maintaining a running list of top scoring sets so site visitors can see which are considered best. Consumer Reports tests 67 LCD TVs, including the Sharp LC-46D62U, for its latest update. However, Consumer Reports includes far less detail in its reports than CNet and some other review sources. We also found a good deal of user feedback for the Sharp AQUOS LC-46D62U at AVSForum.com, CircuitCity.com and Amazon.com.
