Top Rated What the Research Says
•  Sennheiser RS 130
   (*est. $160)

>> Where to buy

Best wireless headphones for home theater.

Reviews say sound quality from these Sennheiser cordless headphones is very good overall, though not equal to corded headphones. Since the Sennheiser RS 130 works on radio frequency (RF), you may get some interference from other electronics, though the Sennheiser headphones automatically switch to the best of three channels. Reviews comment that there's a low hiss noticeable in the quiet scenes of movies or between tracks of music but that it's not too distracting. There's less interference, though, than with the budget Sennheiser RS 120 headphones, and users say the RS 130 headphones have a stable, comfortable fit.
•  Sennheiser RS 120
   (*est. $70)

>> Where to buy

Budget wireless home-theater headphones.

Cheaper wireless headphones tend to get some hiss and occasional interference, and the Sennheiser RS 120 is no exception. However, reviewers say these headphones have good range and sound quality for the money. We found more complaints about interference from cell phones and cordless phones for these headphones than we did for the higher-end Sennheiser RS 130, so the RS 120 might not be the best choice for critical listening. User reviews also note these headphones have a loose fit and aren't appropriate for yard work or exercise. (compare prices)
•  Jabra BT3030
   (*est. $55)

>> Where to buy

Best stereo Bluetooth headphones for cell phones.

Reviewers are impressed with the stylish Jabra BT3030. The device is shaped like a "dog tag" with controls for playing music and taking calls. It's a semi-wireless solution in that you use wired headphones with the "dog tag," which connects wirelessly to your phone or MP3 player. The included earbuds are fairly high quality, reports say, and you can use any other earbuds or headphones you like. Reviewers say music quality is good and calls are clear as long as the microphone is near your mouth. A Bluetooth transmitter is not included, so if your phone isn't a Bluetooth phone, you'll need to buy an adapter. (compare prices)
•  Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones
   (*est. $85)

>> Where to buy

Best Bluetooth headphones for music.

The Logitech FreePulse wireless headphones work with most portable music players (including iPods), as well as home-theater systems, laptops and anything else that has a mini-jack headphone connector for its included Bluetooth transmitter. Reviews say sound quality is good with rich bass. Range and connection quality are also good. Because of its non-adjustable, behind-the-head headband, some people don't find the FreePulse very comfortable, though others have no problems. In addition, the headset can't be used to place or receive cell phone calls. (compare prices)

For wireless home entertainment, we found the best support in reviews for the Sennheiser RS 130 wireless headphones, but the Sennheiser RS 120 is a good alternative for those on a budget. Although several Bluetooth stereo headphones receive recommendations, the Jabra BT3030 comes out on top. It's stylish and can take calls as well as play music. However, it does not include a Bluetooth transmitter. The Logitech FreePulse audio-only headphones also get good reviews for sound quality and range, and include a transmitter that can be used with a wide variety of music players -- including the iPod -- or a home theater or computer system.
