Fisher-Price Sounds 'n Lights Monitor review highlights

The authors of Baby Bargains are impressed enough with the Fisher-Price Sounds ‘n Lights analog baby monitor to include it in their list of recommended models. Of all the monitors they review, only the digital Graco iMonitor (*est. $60) and the analog Sony BabyCall NTM-910 (*est. $45) do better. But owners of the Sound 'n Lights aren't nearly as impressed: The basic Fisher-Price baby monitor averages only mediocre scores on user-review sites, with many complaints of static. Reviews of the Graco UltraClear II (*est. $30), which includes two receivers, are more consistently good.

The baby-gear book Baby Bargains has excellent coverage of the Fisher-Price Sounds ‘n Lights Monitor as part of its informative chapter on baby monitors. Owner-written reviews at Epinions, Amazon.com and ToysRUs.com are also a good source of information on how the Sounds ‘n Lights performs under everyday conditions. Consumer Reports does not include the Sound 'n Lights baby monitor in its latest round of testing.
