Maclaren Easy Traveller Review

(*est. $70) Compare Prices

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Car Seat Strollers which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
The Maclaren Easy Traveller has one big advantage over similar stroller frames (meant to accept an infant car seat); it has a huge storage basket.

What the reviewers don't like:
The Easy Traveller is similar to four or five competing stroller frames, all of which are less expensive. All such stroller frames are only useful until your baby outgrows his or her infant car seat, at which time you'll need a regular stroller.

Maclaren Easy Traveller review highlights

The Maclaren Easy Traveller stroller frame is set to compete with similar models, including the highly-rated Kolcraft Universal Infant Car Seat Carrier (*est. $50) and others, almost all of which are less expensive than the Maclaren version. One feature that sets the Maclaren Easy Traveller apart is its unusually large storage basket. Maclaren says the 10.6-pound Easy Traveller is compatible with most brands of infant car seats, though as with all of these types of stroller frames, some car seats seem to work better than others. Unless you're willing to pay more for the extra large basket, the competing Kolcraft, Graco and Combi versions are less expensive.

The Maclaren Easy Traveller Car Seat Carrier isn't a full stroller. Rather, it's a frame that's meant to accept an infant car seat. This new stroller frame hasn't yet received a huge amount of reviewer feedback, but we did find parent-written reviews at at Daddtypes.com (a blog for new fathers), Target.com and Epinions. The Easy Traveller has yet to be reviewed by any professional sources, such as Consumer Reports.

Despite his description of the Easy Traveller as a "modded Volo with a dumpster attached underneath," it's clear this blogger likes the look of this stroller frame. In an appended comment, one father says he was a beta tester for the Easy Traveller: "While it doesn't do much for protecting your child from the weather, it's perfect for shopping since you can jam a ton of stuff in the basket."

The handful of parents posting here are very satisfied with the Maclaren Easy Traveller, but one complains that her Britax Companion car seat refused to snap in correctly.

3. Epinions

Only a handful of parents have posted comments on the Easy Traveller. Most like its light weight and extra-large storage basket (which one owner says can hold four bags of groceries).
