Quinny Buzz Review

(*est. $500) Compare Prices

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Jogging Strollers which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
There's no denying the Quinny Buzz's futuristic looks, as well as its high-tech folding system and the novelty value of its dual 7-inch front-swivel wheels. Most parents and experts say it's very easy to push and steer. The stroller seat can face forward or back. The handles are adjustable.

What the reviewers don't like:
At 26 pounds, the Buzz is one of the heaviest strollers on the market, futuristic or otherwise. It also has a wide wheelbase, which can make it hard to maneuver through tight spots, and very limited storage. It's not suitable for newborns, since it lacks a fully reclining seat. We found some owner complaints about build quality.

Quinny Buzz review highlights

The Quinny Buzz, considered a high-end designer stroller, receives wildly mixed reviews. The futuristic design of the Buzz is distinguished by its tricycle shape (with a double wheel front and center) and a reversible seat. While some reviewers found maneuvering easy, others say the Buzz is unsuited to rough terrain. A selling feature is the spring-assist unfolding mechanism, but some reviewers say closing the stroller requires a bit of effort. All agree that the Buzz is heavy and offers minimal storage. Although many parents seem to have bought this stroller based on its looks, in general they are very satisfied. However, a few report technical problems after months of use. Among designer strollers, the Stokke Xplory (*est. $1,000 for complete system) and the Bugaboo Cameleon (*est. $900) receive the best reviews, although they are priced considerably higher than the Buzz.

As befits its name, the Quinny Buzz has been generating an awful lot of buzz: We found more reviews of this high-tech all-terrain stroller than of any other single stroller. The Buzz is mainly evaluated by British sites, foremost among them the consumer review magazine Which? and the websites StrollersAndPrams.com, Baby World, and Baby Expert. Stateside, the Buzz is discussed by EliteCarSeats.com (which offers editorial as well as parent reviews) and owners posting to Epinions and Amazon.com. It hasn't yet been tested by Consumer Reports.

This highly credible British consumer review site throws some cold water on the Quinny Buzz fireball, saying this "large and heavy" stroller "struggles on rough ground, is tricky to fold up and has almost no storage provision." On the plus side, editors say, it's easy to push and turn.

The parent reviews on this British site are exceptionally thorough. Most of the 20 or so owners posting here give the Quinny Buzz high scores, praising its looks, maneuverability, and easy folding and unfolding. Tellingly, though, a couple of parents report being smitten with the Buzz at first, then gradually growing disenchanted as it began showing its quirks, including the spring mechanism injuring fingers.

4. EliteCarSeats.com
Quinny Buzz Stroller
Editors of (and contributors to) EliteCarSeats.com

EliteCarSeats.com features in-depth editorial reviews followed by parent feedback. The writer does a good job describing the Quinny Buzz, but admits that it's hard to compare to other strollers because it "looks, feels and functions so differently from anything else out there." Three of the four parent comments are raves, but one said she sold her Buzz because it's "aesthetically gorgeous, but not the most practical" all-terrain stroller.

5. Epinions
