Quinny Zapp Review

(*est. $200) Compare Prices

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Jogging Strollers which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
Besides its stylish, all-terrain-style looks, owners and experts praise the Quinny Zapp's maneuverability, roomy seat, and compact fold. It comes with a travel bag.

What the reviewers don't like:
Some parents claim folding the Zapp can be an involved process, and despair about the almost complete lack of storage. Also, since it doesn't have a reclining seat, this stroller isn't appropriate for kids younger than three months. We read one report that it can tip too easily.

Quinny Zapp review highlights

Most parents and experts are fond of the Quinny Zapp, calling it a reasonably lightweight (15.6 pounds), maneuverable stroller that folds up into a very tight package. However, owners say the fold isn't quite as easy as Quinny advertises, and the almost complete lack of storage can be a major issue. Also, this stroller's seat doesn't recline, making it unsuitable for newborns. The Zapp is one of the cheapest three-wheeled strollers, but if you're not stuck on the three-wheeled look, we found better reviews for the Maclaren Quest (*est. $225), which is lightweight with four wheels.

Like its bigger sibling the Quinny Buzz (*est. $500), the Quinny Zapp has been attracting a lot of attention. This three-wheeled, all-terrain-style lightweight stroller has been reviewed by the British consumer publication Which? and the British website StrollersAndPrams.com, and has also received numerous comments from parents at Baby World, the Baby Bargains forum, Amazon.com and DaddyTypes.com.

Which.co.uk is a review site that combines expert assessment, safety and durability testing, and a parents’ convenience panel. The Quinny Buzz is found to be easy to maneuver, but a bit unstable on steps and curbs. The editors note that the lack of storage is an issue with parents, as is the non-reclining seat (meaning the Buzz isn't appropriate for newborns). They say it is very compact when folded.

Most of the parents posting here (some of whom go into great depth) are very fond of the Quinny Zapp, citing its maneuverability, compact fold, and roominess when open. However, there are some remarks about lack of storage and its weight compared to other strollers.

Quinny Zapp w/ Maxi-Cosi: A Dad-to-Be's Review
Hadi
Jan. 15, 2005

This new dad says the Quinny Zapp is very small when folded, a process that requires three separate motions. He notes its sturdiness, but says this comes at the price of a small increase in weight compared to other strollers. An extremely long discussion ensues, with many other fathers weighing in on the Zapp.
