Graco Alano Review

(*est. $90; *est. $170 for travel system)

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Full-Featured Strollers which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
Parents posting to user-review sites say the Graco Alano rolls smoothly and maneuvers well. They say this stroller isn't overly heavy, and is easy to use and comfortable for kids.. The Alano accepts both Graco SnugRide and SafeSeat infant car seats.

What the reviewers don't like:
The one-hand fold requires some practice to master. One parent says the Graco Alano's fabric isn't very plush. Infants must be kept in their car seat since this stroller's seat doesn't fully recline.

Graco Alano review highlights

In general, owners are fond of the Graco Alano, saying it's not too heavy for an inexpensive full-featured stroller (it weighs 20 pounds). Many say it is easy to use, and comfortable for kids. Parents say the Alano is attractive; many are especially fond of the pink fabric on the "La Petite" model for girls. However, we found a couple of comments about "cheap" fabric, and the popular -- and reliable -- book Baby Bargains points out quality issues with budget-priced Graco strollers in general. The well-regarded Graco MetroLite (*est. $130; *est. $230 for travel system) is a compact stroller that is a bit more expensive than the Alano, but which gets better reviews overall.

The Graco Alano (either the full-size stroller by itself or the stroller/car seat combo) has not been reviewed by any professional sources like Consumer Reports, though we were able to find numerous posts by owners at such sites as Target.com and Amazon.com.

Contributors to Target.com

About three dozen parents here review the Graco Alano travel system, most giving it mainly high ratings. While a large number of owners are very taken with the pink fabric of the "La Petite" model, some note that the color soils too easily.

2. Amazon.com
Graco Alano Stroller Reviews
Contributors to Amazon.com

A handful of parents posting on Amazon.com rave about the Alano, saying it's light, easy to use, and comfortable for kids. One owner notes that the fabric isn't very soft, and the one-hand fold is easy only after some practice.

Although the Graco Alano is not discussed in this helpful book, the authors note that other low-priced Graco strollers have issues with durability, including canopies that can break and reclining seats that stop working properly.
