1.  Baby Bargains Strollers

Denise and Alan Fields

7th Edition, 2007
reviews rating This book includes buyer's guides and ratings on dozens of types of baby gear. The authors say they conduct hands-on testing as well as parent, manufacturer and retailer interviews. Parents posting to Amazon.com say this is the best baby gear book available, with plenty of current info and lots of attitude. The book includes sections aimed at steering consumers away from unnecessary features. The book's online site (www.windsorpeak.com) includes a forum where parents can discuss strollers.

2.  Consumer Reports Strollers

Editors of Consumer Reports

Apr. 2007
reviews rating The editors at Consumer Reports rate 27 strollers for handling, durability, safety and value, but only four of those could be considered full-featured strollers. So while testing is commendable, the scope is very limited given the large number of strollers on the market. The write-ups at Baby Bargains are more detailed, covering a wider range of stroller brands and taking into consideration the reactions of parents to the strollers they use.

3.  Baby-Gaga.com Strollers

Editors of BabyGaga.com

As of Dec. 2006
reviews rating Editors of BabyGaga.com rate strollers with the help of parent opinions. Over twenty full-featured strollers are rated on weight, durability, ease of use, safety and price. Ratings and comments are tallied, and strollers are given an overall grade. Harness system, maneuvering and sturdiness are also factors taken into consideration in reviewing each stroller. The Bugaboo Cameleon, Peg-Perego A3 and Bertini Sport are the top three strollers in terms of parent ratings. Unfortunately, there aren't any new reviews here, so new 2007 strollers are not rated.
4.  Choice.com.au Test: Four-wheel Layback Strollers

Editors of Choice.com.au

Apr. 2006
reviews rating Australia's answer to Consumer Reports does careful testing of ten full-featured strollers for durability, ease of use and safety. The Maclaren Vogue Storm and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited do well in the tests. Unfortunately for domestic consumers, most other models tested aren't available in the U.S.
5.  Which.co.uk Pushchairs

Editors of Which.co.uk

July 4, 2007
reviews rating Which.net is the UK equivalent of Consumer Reports. Testing methods are explained thoroughly, and stroller features are also listed and detailed. Since this is a UK website, most of the strollers aren't available in the United States. However, this is an excellent site for our European readers due to the extensive nature of the reviews.
6.  StrollersandPrams.com Stroller Reviews

Editors of Strollers and Prams.com

As of July 2007
reviews rating A person identified only as "Annabel" is the author of this enthusiast site. A few models get in-depth, well-documented editorial reviews that generally include photographs of stroller features. In addition to four weeks of testing and use by staff members, user forums also allow readers to chime in. Since this site is based in the UK, many strollers discussed aren't available in the US. There aren't a lot of reviews at this site, but if you're looking for information on trendy European strollers, this is a good stop.

7.  Parenting.com Editors' Choice Baby Gear

Editors of Parenting.com

Aug. 2004
reviews rating The strollers on this list earn an Editors' Choice award from BabyTalk. Editors say that strollers chosen for this distinction must "improve a new mom's life" and be a good value. We're not sure if these strollers have actually been tested, however. There are no scores or ratings available, but picks include the Compass S300 Deluxe, Peg-Perego Venezia, Chicco Tuscany and Graco MetroLite, most of which are now discontinued.
8.  Parents.com Gear Guide: Strollers

Julie Knapp

Apr. 1, 2004
reviews rating Parents Magazine rates five strollers (one of which is a travel system and another is a carriage frame), but it doesn't appear as though they did any product testing, making it unclear as to how they selected these models. Maclaren's Techno Classic, the Graco LiteRider and the Kolcraft/Jeep Grand Cherokee are mentioned with a list of each stroller's features. There is also a general shopping list included after the stroller guide.
9.  Consumer Guide.com Single Strollers and Umbrella Strollers

Editors of ConsumerGuide.com

As of July 2007
reviews rating Consumer Guide offers reviews of many full-featured strollers, but most of these are really just product descriptions with links to where the products can be purchased. Ratings are based on reliability, ease of use and value. The menu to search strollers is very well done, with drop menus for size, features and type. None of these appears to have been tested or critically evaluated, however.
10.  BabyCenter.com Parent Picks

Contributors to BabyCenter.com

As of June 2007
reviews rating BabyCenter is mainly a retail portal, but there are some helpful articles, features and stroller ratings thrown into the mix. There's a parent rating system here, and models receiving a combined four to five stars are deemed "parent picks." A vast number of strollers receive five stars, but many of these scores come from just a single review and not from a large opinion pool.
11.  Amazon.com Strollers

Contributors to Amazon.com

As of July 2007
reviews rating Once you've narrowed your choice down to a few models, sites like Amazon.com are worth a visit to find honest owner ratings. Looking through the user comments will generally reveal both positive and negative comments regarding any stroller. The more popular a stroller, the greater the amount of comments and the more accurate the rating. Many strollers receive very high or very low scores when reviewed by few readers.
12.  Epinions Single Strollers

Contributors to Epinions

As of July 2007
reviews rating At this consumer opinion site, most models are only rated by a handful of contributors, making it difficult to get any idea which models might be favorites. Still, comments are often revealing and can give buyers an idea of what sorts of problems might arise after real world use. According to an aside that notes the "top strollers," the best models in the eyes of the Epinions community are the Bugaboo Cameleon and the Peg Perego Pliko P3 Classico.
13.  MSN Shopping Strollers

Editors of MSN Shopping

As of July 2007
reviews rating In conjunction with Consumer Reports, this article covers the pros and cons of different types of strollers, features and what to look for when shopping. The article is very in-depth, advising parents which types of stroller to consider based on the age of the child. It also mentions that Consumer Reports' last review on strollers recommends the Graco Quattro Tour 7111, Stokke Xplory and Bugaboo Frog as top rated models.
14.  LilaGuide.com Standard Strollers

Contributors to LilaGuide.com

As of July 2007
reviews rating The Lila Guide is billed as the "word of mouth survival guide" for parents and is part of a family of websites that include TheNest.com (for newlyweds) and TheKnot.com (for those getting married). This site is newly launched as of spring 2007, and as of this writing there aren't too many reviews posted. Still, the reviews available are generally thoughtful, and they detail both pros and cons of the strollers discussed. This site could improve in the future.
