This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Umbrella Strollers which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
Besides its 9-pound weight, owners and expert reviewers praise the Maclaren Volo umbrella stroller for its comfort, durability, maneuverability, ease of cleaning and ease of folding.

What the reviewers don't like:
The seat on the Maclaren Volo doesn't recline at all, so some parents say kids find this stroller uncomfortable for long stretches. Reviews also say the Volo doesn't offer much in the way of weather protection.

Maclaren Volo review highlights

Reviewers admit that the Maclaren Volo doesn't have a lot of frills; its seat doesn't recline at all, and it uses washable mesh fabric instead of padded upholstery. Still, experts and owners are united in their praise of the comfortable, durable, easy-to-fold and light Maclaren Volo umbrella stroller. However, we did find some comments from parents that (without a seat pad) some kids find this stroller uncomfortable if used for long periods, and the Volo offers minimal weather protection. Overall, reviews say the Maclaren Volo is just about the best simple umbrella stroller you can buy.

As strollers go, the Maclaren Volo receives a huge amount of coverage. We found expert reviews of this 9-pound umbrella stroller by Which? magazine, Baby-Gaga.com, About.com and in the popular baby-gear book Baby Bargains, as well as numerous evaluations from owners posting to Amazon.com and Epinions. It hasn't yet been tested at Consumer Reports.
