Zooper Hula Review

(*est. $270) Compare Prices

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Umbrella Strollers which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
Parents praise the Zooper Hula for its comfortable ride and adjustable handles. Considering its features, its 17-pound weight isn't too bad. Unlike some other strollers in its price class, the Hula's seat fully reclines.

What the reviewers don't like:
We found some complaints about the Hula's hard-to-reach basket and difficult one-hand steering. Some parents say the seat doesn’t recline quite far enough for infants, while others say it never reaches fully upright.

Zooper Hula review highlights

The Zooper Hula is a step up from the Twist in Zooper’s Everyday line with a few added features including height-adjustable handles, one-hand recline and an extra sunshade. Weighing about 17 pounds, the Hula is as light as some strollers, but it has a fully reclining seat and a complement of features that makes it appropriate for younger babies (Zooper says 3 months to 45-pound toddlers). Some parents compare the Hula favorably to the Maclaren Techno XT (*est. $300), which also has extendable handles but does not have a fully reclining seat. Another stroller with similar features, including adjustable-height handles and a fully reclining seat, the Peg-Perego P3 Classico (*est. $330), is a bit pricier but very highly regarded.

The Zooper Hula umbrella stroller hasn't been the subject of any expert reviews by the likes of Consumer Reports or StrollersAndPrams.com. Fortunately, though, a couple of parents posting to Baby-Gaga.com show a technical rigor that would do these sources proud, comparing the Hula to other strollers in its price and weight class. The Hula is also reviewed by a handful of owners at Amazon.com.

Zooper Hula or Pliko P3?
Contributors to Baby-Gaga.com

One parent goes into great depth about the relative merits of three umbrella-handle strollers with similar features -- the Zooper Hula, the Peg-Perego Pliko P3, and the Inglesina Zippy -- and the bar-handle Zooper Waltz. After in-store test drives of all four models, she decided to buy the least expensive Waltz.

In this brief thread, two parents provide feedback about the Zooper Hula, both comparing it favorably to the Maclaren Techno XT. One mom likes the one-hand recline and cold-weather bag, and another points out that the Techno XT isn't appropriate for newborns.

Zooper Hula Red Umbrella Stroller Reviews

A handful of parents post feedback on various colors of the Zooper Hula at Amazon.com, one in great depth. She says the Hula's basket is low and hard to reach, it's tough to steer with one hand, and the lock that keeps the stroller folded occasionally pops open, but these slight drawbacks are more than outweighed by its light weight, adjustable handles, and comfortable padding.
