Image Advanced 1400 review highlights

Reviewers seem eager to like the Image Advanced 1400 treadmill, but the reputation of Icon Fitness (which manufactures Image treadmills) holds them back. This treadmill is praised for its reasonably large (55" x 19") belt, reasonably powerful 2.25-hp motor and its cushioning, but long-term durability is a question mark, and the 90-day warranty coverage doesn't give much confidence. Still this model seems to have good features for the money overall.

The Image Advanced 1400 treadmill is reviewed by two reliable sources, TreadmillDoctor.com (which doesn't sell the machines it reviews) and TreadmillTalk.com (which discusses the pros and cons of various treadmills). It hasn't yet been evaluated by Runner's World or by Consumer Reports magazine.

Clark & Jon Stevenson

Although the Image Advanced 1400 receives above-average scores for walking area, cushioning and value, the verdict is that this machine has "a great look, but lower-quality parts will cost you in the long run."

2. TreadmillTalk.com
The Image Advanced 1400 Treadmill
Editors of TreadmillTalk.com

The writer here praises the Image Advanced 1400's cushioning, belt design and "commercial-quality" motor, but he says there's "room for improvement" at its $800 list price. Like other sources, TreadmillTalk.com wonders about the long-term reliability of this machine's components.
