What the reviewers like:
The ProForm 400 GL has an unusually generous weight limit for treadmills in its price range -- 300 pounds. What the reviewers don't like: Experts agree that this ProForm treadmill is underpowered and has a too-small belt. Experts also worry about the reliability of ProForm treadmills in general. The warranty policy on ProForm's budget treadmills is a further red flag -- three years on the motor and 90 days on everything else (including labor). ProForm 400 GL review highlights Generally, reviewers say the ProForm 400 GL treadmill shares the weaknesses of other budget ProForm treadmills. While this machine does have an impressive 300-pound weight limit, its belt is unusually small (only 50" x 17"), and ProForm offers only a 90-day warranty on most parts (three years for the motor). If you can spend a bit more, we found far better reviews for the New Balance 1400 (*est. $1,000). We found the best reviews of the ProForm 400 GL treadmill at three specialty sites: TreadmillDoctor.com, TreadmillReview.net and Treadmill-Resource-Center.com. Unfortunately, not enough owners have commented on this treadmill at sites such as Amazon.com, Epinions or Sears.com to give their opinions any weight. Consumer Reports has not tested the ProForm 400 GL at this point. Also see full report: Treadmills *In order of credibility (see our Ratings Criteria).1.
