Sole F63 Review

(*est. $1,400) Compare Prices

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Treadmills which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
Experts say the Sole F63 is sturdily built, with a generous 245-pound weight limit, a wide 55" x 20" belt, and large rollers that cut down on wear and tear. Numerous experts named the Sole F63 a best buy when it sold for $1,000 (now it sells for about $1,400).

What the reviewers don't like:
With the recent hike in suggested retail from $1,000 to $1,500, it's difficult to tell if the Sole F63 treadmill is still a leading contender in its price class. Also, one reviewer says this treadmill has a cheap-looking console and complains about a slight squeak during use.

Sole F63 review highlights

Reviewers have nothing but praise for the Sole F63 -- with one major caveat. They like its solid build, 245-pound weight limit, 55" x 20" belt, folding ability and large rollers (which one expert says cuts down on wear and tear). However, at least one reviewer is taken aback by Sole's decision to up the suggested retail price of the Sole F63 from $1,000 to $1,500, which makes it a poorer value, especially compared to Sole's own F80 (*est. $1,500), which includes a hydraulic-assist folding mechanism.

We found a large number of detailed reviews for the Sole F63 treadmill at TreadmillDoctor.com, TreadmillSensei.com, TreadmillTips.com, Treadmill-Ratings-Reviews.com and ExerciseEquipmentExpert.com. Unfortunately, considering its popularity at these specialty sites, Consumer Reports does not include the Sole F63 treadmill in its recent roundup.

Fred Waters

Waters is generally positive about the Sole F63, praising its "hefty" 245-pound weight limit, 20-inch-wide belt and large rollers, which he says cut down on wear and tear. However, Waters also adds that the console looks cheap, and the model he tested had a slight squeak.

The Sole F63 Treadmill Review
"The Treadmill Sensei"
Sep. 8, 2006

This exercise-equipment repairman (and non-retailer) loves the Sole F63, calling it "a much more solid machine than anything else at this price" (though this was back when the F63 retailed for $1,000 rather than $1,500). He likes this treadmill's large rollers and generous belt.

Sole F63 Review
Clark & Jon Stevenson

The Stevenson brothers are pleased with the Sole F63, which earned a high rating for treadmills in the $1,000 price range. However, they're not happy about Sole's recent 50 percent price hike.

Aaron Co

Aaron Co calls the Sole F63 "the best treadmill below $1,000 in the market today." However, it's unclear whether that honorific still applies, now that it bears a higher $1,500 list price.
