Owners posting on Epinions rave about the Fresh Air by EcoQuest, but it’s likely that many of them are salespeople. (The Fresh Air is sold through a multi-level marketing network).

What the reviewers don’t like:
One expert source calls the Fresh Air the "lowest-ranking air cleaner ever," citing its ineffective performance, inflated price tag and high ozone emissions. There have been numerous articles about the shady practices of EcoQuest and Alpine (the company EcoQuest spun off from).

Fresh Air by EcoQuest review highlights

Air-Purifier-Power.com makes a very convincing case that the Fresh Air by EcoQuest is a poor choice in an air cleaner. Sherbenou (who is familiar with the intimate details of hundreds of air purifiers) calls the Fresh Air the "lowest-ranking air cleaner ever," citing its high ozone emissions, hefty price tag and multilevel sales network. Although it’s possible that some of the five-star reviews on Epinions are genuine, considering what we know about EcoQuest, a better guide would the sprinkling of one-star reviews from owners who call the Fresh Air ineffective. The verdict seems to be that, if you’re willing to spend $800 on an air purifier, you should go with a less expensive, better-rated machine such as the IQAir HealthPro (*est. $700).

Although it isn’t included in formal tests by Consumer Reports or Air-Purifiers-America.com, the Fresh Air by EcoQuest air purifier receives an in-depth evaluation by Ed Sherbenou of Air-Purifier-Power.com. We also found numerous reviews of this electrostatic air purifier on Epinions (many of them, alas, likely from people involved in EcoQuest’s multilevel marketing apparatus). At ConsumerAffairs.com, we found an informative overview of the shenanigans of Alpine, the company from which EcoQuest was spun off a few years ago.
