What the reviewers like:
Some experts say the Honeywell Enviracaire 18155 does a decent job clearing smoke and odors from small rooms. Reviewers agree that it’s quiet, and appreciate its "lifetime" HEPA filter.

We found some references to that "lifetime" HEPA filter having to be replaced after a few years. In one major comparative test, the Honeywell performed below average at removing dust and odors, and some owners report quality problems out of the box.

In one major comparative test, this air purifier finished in the bottom third of the pack, receiving below-average grades for everything but noise. Ed Sherbenou of Air-Purifier-Power.com says it’s a decent choice for small (150 square feet) rooms, but according to reviews, a better choice would be the Honeywell Enviracaire 50250 (*est. $150). Most owners seem satisfied with this air cleaner, praising its low noise level, but a few report quality issues right out of the box.

The Honeywell Enviracaire 18155 air purifier -- which is also sold as the Honeywell SilentComfort -- is among the 30 air purifiers tested by Consumer Reports in October 2005. The Honeywell Enviracaire 18150 is one of the air purifiers tested by Consumer Reports in its October 2005 roundup. It's evaluated on its ability to remove particulate allergens from a sealed test chamber on both high and low speeds. Editors also measure noise.

He says this air purifier works only for extremely small rooms (about 150 square feet), and has some issues with what he says is poor sealing around the pre-filter’s wrap. He recommends the Honeywell 50250 (*est. $150) as a better choice.
