For big jobs like cleaning large decks, siding and even stripping paint, you'll need the better power of a gas pressure washer instead of an electric model. The Kärcher G 2600 isn't the most expensive model, but reviewers say it's the best pick for homeowners who need something powerful but don't want to spend $700 or more. Downsides are that the Kärcher G 2600 is noisy, and like all gas-powered models, requires more maintenance than electric washers. If you don't only need to clean bikes, cars and spray off driveways and sidewalks, the less expensive electric Kärcher K 5.93 M (*est. $280) is an option.

Staff at this large online retailer recommended the Kärcher G 2600 as one of the best residential gas-powered pressure washers -- good for pretty much all tasks. Though it is powerful enough to strip paint, it's better at stripping dry, cracking paint that fresh undamaged paint.
