1.  Real Simple The Most Durable Trash Bags

Editors of Real Simple

Dec. 2004
reviews rating Real Simple editors test a variety of bags by filling them with trash and pointy-edged boxes, dragging them over smooth concrete and jagged rocks and dropping them on the pavement from a five-foot height. Glad ForceFlex takes top honors in the kitchen category over Hefty Cinch Sak; editors praise its toughness and elasticity. In the extra-large category, Cinch Sak once again finishes second, this time to Husky. Seventh Generation and The Home Depot are both praised for their biodegradable bags.
2.  Consumer Reports Glad bag's claim is sometimes a stretch, but Hefty lives up to its name

Editors of Consumer Reports

Feb. 2005
reviews rating In this brief article, Consumer Reports tests Glad ForceFlex against Hefty Ultra Flex and Wal-Mart's house-brand America's Choice by stuffing each with eight hardbound copies of Consumer Reports and six wire hangers, tying it and hanging it off the ground.
3.  News4Jax.com Consumers Put Trash Bags to Test

Nov. 9, 2004
reviews rating News4Jax reports on the results of a test by KETV in Omaha, which pitted Glad ForceFlex bags against the Target house brand. Target is the winner, thanks to its lack of punctures when filled with garbage.

4.  AssociatedContent.com Glad vs. Hefty

Jamie Marr

May 15, 2007
reviews rating Associated Content is a website that essentially posts longer user reviews, sometimes in exchange for payment from a manufacturer. In her search for a better trash bag, Jamie Marr tries out both Hefty Ultra Flex and Glad ForceFlex. She praises both brands, but gives the edge to Glad because of its "more sturdy" drawstrings. The praise for both manufacturers leads us to believe that this is not a subsidized review.
5.  AssociatedContent.com Hefty Ultra Flex vs. Glad ForceFlex Trash Bag

Christina Carroll

Aug. 17, 2006
reviews rating In this article, Christina Carroll praises both Hefty and Glad, which leads us to believe this article hasn't been subsidized by either manufacturer. She says both Ultra Flex and ForceFlex do a good job, but gives the slight edge to Ultra Flex because of its "more reliable" drawstrings. (Oddly, another Associated Content writer prefers Glad for the same reason.)
6.  AssociatedContent.com Hefty Cinch Sak Tall Trash Bags vs. America's Choice Tall Kitchen Elastic Drawstring Bags

Carol Bengle Gilbert

May 16, 2007
reviews rating In yet a third head-to-head trash bag comparison by a single tester, Carol Gilbert pits Hefty Cinch Sak against Wal-Mart's America's Choice trash bags. She says America's Choice fits better in the bin, but can't match Cinch Sak for durability. Based on price, however, she still opts for America's Choice trash bags, with the proviso that you shouldn't overload the bag.

7.  The Impulsive Buy Glad ForceFlex Kitchen Trash Bags

"Marvo"

Dec. 29, 2004
reviews rating "Marvo" tests the Glad ForceFlex in a novel way: by jumping inside one and hopping around like "a rabbit on crack" for several minutes. The bag doesn't break, although without knowing how big Marvo is, it's hard to know how impressed to be.

Liz Crenshaw

Apr. 7, 2005
reviews rating In this transcript of a video segment, NBC4's consumer affairs reporter asks nine ordinary folks to manhandle Glad ForceFlex trash bags. One bag develops a tear after extreme pressure, and seven of the nine participants give the thumbs up to ForceFlex.
