Bissell PowerForce 65792 Review

(*est. $50)

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Vacuum Cleaners which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
In addition to its budget price, owners and experts praise the Bissell PowerForce 65792's performance on carpeting and hard floors, as well as its ability to pick up pet hair.

What the reviewers don't like:
Because the Bissell is relatively small, its bag and filter have to be replaced fairly frequently. As a super-budget vacuum, it doesn't come with features like HEPA filtration, self-propulsion or a retractable cord.

Bissell PowerForce 65792 review highlights

On the whole, experts and owners agree that the Bissell PowerForce 65792 performs very well considering its budget price. Reviewers say this upright vacuum is especially good at picking up pet hair and excels on hard floors. However, because it's relatively small, the Bissell's bag and filter require frequent replacement, and one reviewer says it can be hard to push. If you're shopping in this price range, we found even more enthusiastic reviews for the Hoover Tempo Widepath (*est. $60).

We found the best review of the budget-priced Bissell PowerForce 65792 at Consumer Reports, which includes the Bissell in its roundup of dozens of upright vacuums. The Bissell PowerForce is also reviewed by Consumer Guide and by the stay-at-home parents guide at About.com. We found a handful of owner opinions posted on Amazon.com.

As About.com's stay-at-home parents guide, Barbara Whiting takes the Bissell Powerforce for a test drive and says it's good at picking up pet hair and dirt from carpets, with a wide cleaning path and a long (27-foot) power cord. However, she adds that it can be hard to push at times, and the filter needs frequent cleaning.

Expert Review: Bissell PowerForce Bagless Upright Vacuum 6579-2
Editors of ConsumerGuide.com
Sept. 18, 2006

Consumer Guide's reviewer points out the light weight and small build of the Bissell PowerForce 65792 and likes its clear dirt receptacle that alerts you when it's time to replace the bag. However, this upright vacuum earns just a slightly above-average score, rating better for value and performance than for features and ease of use.
