What the reviewers like:
Owners and experts alike call the Dyson Animal DC07 bagless upright vacuum reliable and powerful, and owners say the powered hand tool does a great job picking up pet hair on upholstery. Also, this upright vacuum comes with a five-year warranty.

What the reviewers don't like:
While most reviewers like the Dyson Animal DC07, others question its high price relative to performance overall. Less expensive vacuums do just as well in tests. The Dyson Animal is also heavy (about 20 pounds).

Dyson Animal DC07 review highlights

In general, users and reviewers like the performance of the bagless Dyson Animal DC07. This vacuum comes with a special powered hand tool for digging pet hair out of upholstery. The vast majority of owners say the hand tool works very well. However, for day-to-day vacuuming, other reviewers aren't sure the Dyson Animal DC07 is worth the high price when cheaper vacuums like the Eureka Boss SmartVac (*est. $150) perform well for much less.

Various models in the Dyson DC07 line, including the Dyson Animal DC07 have been on the market for a number of years, and hence have appeared in lots of reviews. An article in The Wall Street Journal directly compares the Dyson Animal DC07 to similar vacuums by Kenmore, Bissell, Eureka and Dirt Devil, while a more recent roundup by Consumer Reports includes the Dyson Animal DC07 vacuum. Dyson vacuums also receive a large amount of owner feedback at Amazon.com and Epinions.

Consumer Reports tests more upright vacuums than any other reviewer. Although each vacuum is rated in a variety of areas, comments about specific vacuums are sparse. This roundup doesn't include the Dyson DC07 Animal, but a similar model, the Dyson DC07 All Floors is tested. The only difference between the two is the number of accessories that come with the vacuum.
