Riccar SupraLite RSL3 Review

What the reviewers like:
The Riccar SupraLite RSL3 (also sold as the Simplicity Freedom) weighs just nine pounds, but still performs well on carpeting and bare floors. This is one of the few vacuum cleaners to be assembled entirely in the U.S.

What the reviewers don't like:
Although it does come with a HEPA filter, the Riccar/Simplicity doesn't include tools for cleaning upholstery or reaching into corners. It's a simple upright vacuum.

Riccar SupraLite RSL3 review highlights

The Riccar SupraLite RSL3 (also sold as the Simplicity Freedom F3500) is said to be a solid vacuum cleaner, with good cleaning ability on carpets and hard floors and features like a HEPA filter and overload protection for the blower fan motor. Although it has no bearing on this vacuum's quality, it's interesting that the Riccar SupraLite RSL3 and Simplicity Freedom are just about the last vacuum cleaners manufactured in the U.S.

Because Riccar vacuums are only sold in brick-and-mortar specialty shops and aren't available online, either at Amazon.com or at virtual vacuum dealers, reviews of these vacuums are thin on the ground. Fortunately, though, Consumer Reports includes the Riccar SupraLite RSL3 (which is also available as the Simplicity Freedom F3500) in its most recent roundup of vacuum cleaners.

Consumer Reports is one of the only professional reviewers we found for the Riccar SupraLite RSL3. It evaluates vacuums for cleaning ability, noise, emissions and ease of use.

Although not exactly a review, we found this interesting endorsement of Riccar vacuums on the website of a housecleaning service, which presumably has some extensive experience with vacuums. The light weight is cited as a major plus.
