1. Consumer Reports >> Details/Subscribe	Washing Machines Editors of Consumer Reports Feb. 2008		Consumer Reports tests nearly 50 washing machines. It does not include any laundry centers or washer-dryer combos. However, several of the front-loading washing machines tested here are stackable. An earlier report from 2005, which did include laundry centers and washer-dryer combos, is no longer available on the Consumer Reports website.
2. Consumer Reports >> Details/Subscribe	Buying Advice: Clothes Dryers Editors of Consumer Reports Feb. 2008		Consumer Reports tests nearly 40 dryers. One of the top picks here is a stackable unit with front mounted controls. One nice aspect about Consumer Reports' testing is that editors clearly identify the stackable units.
3. Which.co.uk >> Details/Subscribe	Washer-dryers Editors of Which.co.uk Dec. 2007		This report includes tests and ratings of 39 washer-dryer combo models (also called washer-driers in the UK). However, since this is a UK website, none of these models are available in the U.S. The analysis concludes that the best combo units wash as well as the best regular washers. However, they do not dry as well as the best regular dryers. Editors note the drawbacks of all combo units.

Good Housekeeping.com >> Details/Subscribe	New Compact Appliances Editors of Good Housekeeping Mar. 2003		The LG compact washer-dryer combo is included in this report on a variety of compact appliances. Editors say the LG "outcleaned some standard washers," but other than this esoteric comparison, we aren't told how the unit stacks up against others, and this article is now very outdated.

ThatHome Site.com	Laundry Room Forum Contributors to ThatHomeSite.com As of Feb. 2007		The extensive forums on That Home Site are an excellent place to visit if you are having a specific problem with a washing machine or dryer, as this site is trafficked by pros and knowledgeable do-it-yourselfers. Sprinkled among the posts are discussions and recommendations for the best machines. LG models are the ones most mentioned in the threads on washer-dryer combos. Several owners detail their experiences, both good and bad.

6. Epinions	Washing Machines Contributors to Epinions As of Feb. 2008		There aren't too many owner-written reviews here for compact models, but these few reviews are still helpful. There are ten laundry centers listed, but only three of them receive more than two reviews. The Frigidaire GLEH1642DS receives four out of five stars from 13 reviewers. It works great for many reviewers, but others are faced with constant repairs. Epinions lists four washer-dryer combo units, but only one, the Malber WD1000, is reviewed. The 25 reviewers give this machine three out of five stars. Many people love it, but for others it does not dry well and breaks down often.
7. Sears.com	Untitled Contributors to Sears.com As of Jan. 2008		Sears carries Frigidaire and Kenmore units, and is one of the few places to find a good number of owner ratings for laundry centers. The best reviewed laundry center is the Frigidaire Front Load Electric Laundry Center, with a near-perfect average rating from over 20 owners. A perfect score is prevented primarily by complaints about a very loud buzzer. The Kenmore Super Capacity Laundry Center receives 4.5 stars out of five from about ten reviewers. For some, this unit can be noisy. The other machines receive no more than three reviews.
8. Amazon.com	Washers and dryers Contributors to Amazon.com As of Feb. 2008		Amazon lists several laundry centers and washer-dryer combos, but they are mixed in with accessories and parts. Most have no reviews from owners. We found a handful of good ratings for the Frigidaire Front Load Electric Laundry Center (GLEH1642FS). The one negative review is based on unclear installation instructions and sub-par customer service. The LG WM3431HW 24-inch washer-dryer combo receives 3.5 stars from 13 reviewers. The other units listed receive one or no reviews.
9. HomeDepot.com	Stacked Units Contributors to HomeDepot.com As of Feb. 2008		The Home Depot lists six laundry centers from GE and Maytag. The GE Unitized Spacemaker Washer and Electric Dryer gets high ratings, but from just four reviewers. Reviewers are pleased with the small size, but some mention the limited capacity. The other listed units receive less than two ratings.

10. Choice.com.au >> Details/Subscribe	Washer-Dryers Editors of Choice.com.au Dec. 2007		Choice is the Australian equivalent of Consumer Reports. Testing is just as thorough, but editors explain tests, results and ratings more thoroughly than Consumer Reports. In this report, 43 washers are rated. They are not available in the United States. Testing does not include laundry centers or washer-dryer combos. A 2005 test of washer-dryer units is no longer available on the website, but a fact sheet on washer-dryers offers general information.
11. Consumer Guide.com	Combination Washer/Dryers Editors of ConsumerGuide.com As of Feb. 2008		Consumer Guide offers a fairly detailed description of the features its Best Buy picks offer, but models don't appear to have been tested. Consumer Guide is more of a shopping portal than a review site.
