What the Reviewers Like:
Reviews say the Krups Fast Touch 203 is a simple and inexpensive coffee grinder with a long lifespan. The Fast Touch has a relatively large capacity (enough for about 1 ½ pots of coffee), which adds to its value.

What The Reviewers Don't Like:
Owners who love espresso found the Krups Fast Touch 203 did not grind beans finely enough, so this model is only appropriate for automatic-drip coffee makers and for French press models. Other owners report the Fast Touch is quite noisy.

Krups Fast Touch 203 review highlights

Reviews are plentiful for the Krups Fast Touch 203 coffee grinder, with Cook's Illustrated publishing the best well-rounded review. The Fast Touch appears to be one of the most-reviewed coffee grinders at Amazon.com, with owners giving it an average rating of 4 stars (out of a possible 5) in 174 reviews. We also read reviews at Epinions and CoffeeGeek.com, a coffee enthusiasts' website that displays the number of ratings and overall scores for each coffee grinder.

Reviews say the Krups Fast Touch 203 is a simple, reliable grinder for automatic drip coffee makers and French presses (this type of blade grinder doesn't work well for making espresso, where you need a finer, more consistent grind). Owners are proud to admit their Krups coffee grinders are still going strong after many years of use (one owner reports that it melted on contact with a burner, but kept grinding). The compact Krups coffee grinder has a lid that fits snugly into the base and owners report that a damp paper towel is all it takes to remove residual grounds. The Fast Touch can hold 12 tablespoons of beans -- enough for about 1 1/2 pots of automatic-drip coffee.

Easing the Daily Grind
Editors of Cook's Illustrated
Nov. 2001

Cook's Illustrated tests 10 under-$50 coffee grinders by grinding 2 ounces of coffee beans in each and brewing 40-ounce pots of coffee using automatic drip coffee makers. Editors recommend five grinders, including the Krups Fast Touch 203. We'd like to see the magazine update its testing as many of the model numbers in the article are out of date. This article does provide helpful advice for improving the body of the coffee by grinding beans in a blade grinder longer than manufacturers recommend.
