What the reviewers like:
In reviews, owners especially like the Black & Decker Brew N Go's travel mug, which keeps coffee hot and fits in most vehicle cup holders. The coffee maker itself has a permanent filter, so you don't have to keep paper filters on hand. Reviews say coffee tastes very good, especially considering the low price. What the reviewers don't like: Experts say you don’t get coffee-shop quality from $20 coffee makers, so you shouldn't expect gourmet coffee from the Black & Decker Brew N Go. The most common complaint we found in reviews is about the Brew N Go's permanent filter. Some say the filter's mesh isn't fine enough, which allows some coffee grounds to pass through the filter and into the mug. Black & Decker Brew 'N Go review highlights According to reviews, the Black & Decker Brew N Go is an excellent little coffee maker for the money. Unlike some pricey pod-type, single-cup coffee makers like the Philips Senseo (*est. $70), the Black & Decker just uses regular automatic-drip coffee or ground beans. Although some owners say you can't expect gourmet coffee from the Brew N Go, most say it is terrific for the price, with a well-designed thermal travel mug. The Black & Decker Brew N Go coffee maker, which brews directly into a 15-ounce travel mug, has been on the market for many years. Thus it’s had plenty of time to amass a large number of owner-written reviews, especially at Amazon.com, where it's rated by over 250 owners. For this reason, Amazon.com is actually the best place to gauge overall owner satisfaction for this model. The Black & Decker Brew N Go is also included in a large comparison review at Consumer Reports, but oddly, editors don't appear to rate coffee makers on the taste of the coffee. This model also gets a nice review from coffee guru Mark Prince, who normally writes reviews for $900 espresso machines at CoffeeGeek.com.
