Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-300 Review

(*est. $80) Compare Prices

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Coffee Makers which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the reviewers like:
Most owners are happy with the coffee produced by the Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-300. While some complain about extra cleaning time, others point out that you'd probably spend the same amount of time cleaning a separate grinder and coffee maker.

What the reviewers don't like:
Although the Cuisinart Grind and Brew does include a bean grinder, the grinder itself is a blade grinder, which experts say won't give you a consistent grind like a higher-end burr grinder would do. Ease of cleaning is a common complaint in reviews; many owners say there are just too many small plastic parts to clean.

Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-300 review highlights

Reviews are fairly evenly split for the Cuisinart DGB-300. While about two-thirds of owners say they like the taste of its coffee, the other third complain loudly that the Grind and Brew is hard to clean, with too many small plastic parts that must be washed after each use. Others take issue with its overall durability. The best grinder/coffee maker in reviews is the Capresso CoffeeTeam S (*est. $200), but this machine is a lot more expensive. If you don't need a grinder, the Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 (*est. $80) gets much better reviews overall.

The Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-300 (also available in black as the DGB-300BK) combines a bean grinder and automatic drip coffee maker in one machine. While the Cuisinart DGB-300 isn't included in many professional comparison tests, we did find a large number of owner reviews on Amazon.com and, to a lesser extent, at Epinions and CoffeeGeek.com. Consumer Reports has reviewed a more expensive, thermal-carafe version of this coffee maker, but it hasn't tested the Grind and Brew DGB-300, which has a regular glass carafe.
