What the reviewers like:
Owners like the look of this Mr. Coffee, which has a modern-looking metallic control panel and funky cone-shaped carafe. In the reviews we read, about a third of owners don't have any problems at all with the performance of the Mr. Coffee FTX23 coffee maker.

What the reviewers don't like:
Overall, the Mr. Coffee FTX23 gets mixed-to-low ratings from the majority of owners. Durability is a common complaint. Many owners report coffee spilling all over the counter -- a problem that appears to involve the spring on the basket. Other owners report problems with condensation clouding up the timer and water level indicators.

Mr. Coffee is among the most well-known and widely available brands of automatic drip machines, but for several years it has not ranked among reviewers' favorite coffee makers. Although owners like the looks of this Mr. Coffee coffee maker -- which has a cone-shaped carafe and modern-looking control panel -- we found a large number of complaints about durability and leaks. Though more expensive, the Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 (*est. $80) is similar and gets better reviews.

This particular Mr. Coffee coffee maker, the FTX23, isn't included in major comparison reviews at Consumer Reports. However, we did find a large number of owner-written ratings for the Mr. Coffee coffee machine, which is a standard programmable automatic-drip coffee maker.
