What the Reviewers Like:
The KitchenAid KFP760 comes with three bowls, including a mini-bowl that fits inside the main container for smaller jobs. This food processor does a great job with cookie and bread dough, and is an excellent performer overall.

What the Reviewers Don’t Like:
The KitchenAid KFP760 comes with a huge number of attachments -- which might be overkill. You can save some money by going with a simpler model.

KitchenAid KFP760 review highlights

The top-of-the-line 12-cup KitchenAid Professional KFP760 comes with three bowls, including a mini-bowl that fits inside the main container for smaller jobs. It also has an extra-wide feed tube. One caveat, say testers at Cook's Illustrated, is that the food processor only operates with the use of the plunger, which must be inserted halfway into the feed tube. This makes it more tedious to process long items like carrots, celery and parsnips, which will need to be cut first into smaller pieces. The KitchenAid food processor comes with lot of accessories, which many people may not need. Overall, the KitchenAid food processor earns excellent ratings, but the simpler KitchenAid KFP750 (*est. $180) costs less and has the same capacity.

The 12-cup KitchenAid KFP760 food processor has been included in rigorous rounds of testing at Cook's Illustrated (though it hasn't yet been tested by Consumer Reports), and has accumulated more than 90 owner reviews at Amazon.com -- enough feedback to get a good overall picture of owner satisfaction.

Editors of Cook's Illustrated
Sept. 2005

Testers put eight food processors through a battery of tests in this older review. The KitchenAid KFP670 earned the highest overall rating in this older test, although it leaked slightly during the soup test. This model has now been replaced by the KitchenAid KFP750 and KFP760, which testers say perform just as well. Editors don't like the feed-tube safety feature on the newer models, however.

Most owners are very pleased with this 12-cup food processor, which they say is efficient, sturdy and easy to use. Some owners note that foods can tumble down into the larger bowl from the smaller one set inside it. Most however, say that this machine is a kitchen workhorse.
