Breville Juice Fountain Plus JE95 Review

(*est. $150) Compare Prices

This page is part of a larger ConsumerSearch report on Juicers which includes more reviews, analysis and a summary of the top-rated models.

What the Reviewers Like:
Reviewers like that the Breville JE95 Juice Fountain Plus starts out slow and speeds up, reducing the likelihood of splashing. Small apples can be fed into the machine intact due to the large feeder chute. Juicing is quick, and owners like the included cleaning brush, which makes it easy to remove pulp from the blade.

What the Reviewers Don't Like:
Cleaning can be time-consuming if you don't have a dishwasher. If they are not rinsed away immediately, carrot and beet juices can stain the mainly plastic parts of the Breville JE95. This 18-inch-tall juicer may not fit under cabinets. We also read sporadic complaints about motor failure.

Breville Juice Fountain Plus JE95 review highlights

Reviews say that the Breville Juice Fountain Plus is an efficient juicer that scores well in its price range. It's also relatively easy to clean despite having several plastic parts that must be cleaned. At 18 inches high, it's quite tall, and may not fit well under cabinets. Although this juicer has many fans among owners, motor-failure complaints are sprinkled amidst the compliments. The Breville JE95 Juice Fountain Plus has a shorter warranty than the more powerful and better rated Breville 800JEXL (*est. $300). Still, the Breville JE95 juicer earns second place in Choice and Consumer magazine's tests. It's a good choice if you don't plan to juice hard foods such as carrots and beets.

We read reviews of the Breville Juice Fountain Plus JE95 on the websites of three well-regarded consumer magazines: Australia's Choice magazine, New Zealand's Consumer magazine, and U.K.-based Which? magazine. The Breville JE95 juicer has also accumulated well over 100 reviews at Amazon.com, giving an excellent picture of its overall performance.

They say it's relatively easy to clean, but note that the parts should be put in the top shelf of a dishwasher only. They also note that it will probably need to be disassembled for storage.

Which? is a U.K. magazine that offers a detailed comparison and review of 14 juicers, some of which are available in the U.S. In the course of testing, editors processed 450 oranges, 11 pineapples, 31 kilograms of beets, and many other fruits and vegetables. The Breville JE95, known here as the Antony Worral Thompson JE15, is rated a best buy. Editors say it's good for fruit and vegetable juicing. This was the fastest juicer of those tested. Its only downside, say editors, is its bulky size.
