Chefs Choice Cordless 677 review highlights

Sources and research:

British review magazine Which.co.uk provides the best perspective on the Chef's Choice Cordless 677 1¾ Quart Electric Tea Kettle because the model was tested for various features against more than 70 other models. We found well over 100 user reviews of this kettle, which made it easy to determine its biggest flaw (its hot exterior).

While most reviewers say the Chef's Choice 677 electric kettle boils quickly and is easy to use, we read many reports that the stainless steel exterior just gets too hot. Some say it gets hot enough to melt plastic or burn your hand. Although the Chef's Choice kettle looks nice, a plastic kettle like the Bodum Ibis Electric Tea Kettle (* est. $40) won't get as hot.

Editors of Which.co.uk

The Chef's Choice 677 (sold in the UK under the name Russell Hobbs Ceylon 13355) is the editors' top choice among 73 electric tea kettles tested. Editors considered boiling time, ease of use, noise and extra features in their comprehensive tests, by far the best we found. This kettle was judged to be very energy efficient, easy to use and well-priced. Bear in mind that the boil times aren't accurate for U.S. users, as British home wattage is higher.
