  • Do not try to use the service if you do not see your phone listed.
  • Because of Verizon restrictions, the service does not work for Verizon customers with ordinary cell phones. The service should work properly for Verizon customers who have a Blackberry, Treo, or Windows SmartPhone, however.

  • The software requires 100k or more of storage space in your phone or device. If you don't have sufficient free memory, the software will not install. You may be able to free up space by deleting photos, videos, or other data from your phone or device if necessary.

Download Instructions

N.B. The download process does not work with Internet Explorer 7. We are expecting an update from mFoundry to fix this.

  1. After you press SUBMIT, your mobile device will notify you that you have a new SMS message. Click to view message on your mobile device.
  2. The message will have a URL (Internet address) which must be clicked to initiate the download.
  3. As the application is downloading, you may see a message from your carrier that asks you to confirm you want to download the application. For example: "This is not a trusted file. Sprint cannot guarantee..." Click "Continue." Some phones may ask where to save the download. You can choose Applications or Applications & Games in your download file. By default, most phones automatically place the application in an Applications folder.
  4. Once the download is complete, a screen may appear titled "New Download." Click "Use." You may need to click on the "Consumer Search Mobile" icon on your menu to run the application.
  5. When you launch the Consumer Search application, you may see a pop-up about network access. It is easiest to click "Always Available" to allow for network connections when necessary.
  6. Some users have reported that to install the software, they have to click a link that says "Provisioning."
Frequently Aasked Questions

Who provides this service?

ConsumerSearch.com provides the product review text information displayed on your phone, but the mobile phone software application itself is from www.mFoundry.com.

What if I don't have enough space on my device for the service?

Space is handled by the "Java virtual machine" software on the phone. If you don't have enough space, the phone will typically give you the option to delete something to make room for the application. Some phones don't provide any prompting to make space, however, and an attempted download onto these phones simply will not work. The good news is that the Java virtual machine is a "sand-boxed technology", which protects your phone from damage if you should not have sufficient space.

Do I need to re-download the application when ConsumerSearch is updated?

Not normally. The application is designed to automatically grab and display the latest ConsumerSearch Fast Answers on your phone as these are published without the need for further downloading from you.

How can I uninstall the application form my phone or device?

You will need to consult the documentation that came with your phone or device for instructions on deleting applications.

Where can I get technical support?

We regret that due to the large variety of phones, configurations, and cell phone carriers, that we cannot currently offer technical support for this application. We would like to hear of any issues that you may have, however, through our Feedback form. We will forward these to mfoundry.com so that they can work to improve the service. This page and the application itself will be updated as new information becomes available.
