About The Sample Report

Our sample assignment for writers and editors is designed to help us understand your writing style, and how you apply skills of reasoning and judgment. You'll be asked to prepare an abridged ConsumerSearch report based on a set of reference materials we'll provide to you. You'll read the available source materials and make decisions on what information is important (along with what's not important). You'll create a narrative Full Story report, and you'll try to identify the best products based on the research materials you've been given.

What happens to my Sample Report submission?
After completing your submission and sending it to us, we will review your application, a process that could take up to two weeks. You may be contacted for further information or be asked for clarifications of your work or to redo your work. All submissions will receive an acknowledgement within 48 hours of receipt. Instructions for the Sample Report and how to submit materials are included on the following pages.

How long will it take to complete the Sample Report?
There is no minimum or maximum time required for completing the application. It would take an experienced ConsumerSearch writer about 12 hours to complete the Sample Report. Because you'll need time to read our guidelines and become familiar with our processes, requirements and tone, you could need twice that time or more.
