What every best Pressure Washers has:
- A power level that suits your needs.
- Maintenance requirements you can handle.
- An adjustable water spray.
Best for lighter-duty cleaning. Reviews say the Sun Joe SPX1000 is a good performer when it comes to cleaning patios, decks, cars, barbeques, outdoor furniture and the like. Keep your expectations in check, however, when it comes to more demanding tasks, or at the very least budget extra time for the Sun Joe to get things sparkling. While complaints are not unheard of, user feedback shows fewer reliability complaints than are the norm, at least for a pressure washer in this price range, and a two-year warranty adds a little peace of mind, too. Customer service also earns some kudos for being responsive when issues are encountered
Just the basics. Given its price, it's not surprising that the SPX1000 lacks much in the way of extras. The lack of a detergent tank costs in lots of points in the one expert review we spotted, but that doesn't seem to bother most users (at least those that read the product descriptions and knew that one wasn't included). An accessory detergent bottle is available, the Sun Joe SPX1DT (Est. $12) [B00CPGMUY6] but user feedback is only so-so. In place of interchangeable nozzles, the Sun Joe is supplied with an adjustable 33-inch wand that can go from a pinpoint zero degree spray (for tough jobs, but use with care for safety) to a 45 degree spray to gently clean away dirt.
Simple is as simple does. The upside of a basic pressure washer like this is that use is very straightforward. The same is true of assembly and set up; some say that the assembly instructions could be better, but even so there isn't much to the task. At just 11.7 pounds, pressure washers don't come much more light weight, and there are solid 6-inch wheels to aid in maneuverability.
The Sun Joe SPX1000 is included in ConsumerReports.org's latest pressure washer ratings. It doesn't rate particularly well here, however, with low power and the lack of a built-in detergent tank costing it points.
Users, at least those that understand the limitations of this low-cost pressure washer, largely give the Sun Joe SPX1000 good reviews at Amazon.com. It earns a 4.2 star score based on 380 reviews. Many say that the price is tough to beat, that they appreciate the unit's light weight, and that for the type of jobs they do, the power is just right.
Though some reviews come originally from the manufacturer's web site, and a handful were posted in exchange for receiving a free product, there's enough additional feedback at HomeDepot.com to be useful. Here, the Sun Joe SPX1000 earns a score of 4.2 stars, with recommendations from 93 percent of owners. Many are thrilled with the performance, portability and ease of assembly (though a few grouse that the assembly instructions could be better).
